How to get there:
From the south take the SS125 north to Tortoli until Cardedu, turn left towards Jerzu but you must turn right onto La Strada 28 just before the bridge. DO NOT go over the bridge as this is a far longer route. Stay with the river on your left hand side, continue on this road climbing up and around the valley until you arrive in Gairo. Follow signs to Gairo Vecchio and continue on this road down the valley, over the river at the bottom and back up the other side turning right at the sign for Gairo Taquisara. Upon entering the little town of Gairo Taquisara some two or three kilometres later take the right hand turn immediately after the railway track. There is a signpost here to Perda e'Liana. Follow this road up and out of Taquisara and continue climbing for several kilometres up and over into the higher grounds until arriving at a sharp right hand bend with a signpost on the left to Perda e'Liana. Turn left here and continue on this smaller road until arriving at the park and picnic point and the start of the path to the rock itself. It is a great journey but please concentrate as there are many bends and beautiful scenery to look at.
From Nuoro take the main road SS389 towards Lanusei until the junction for the SS198 to Gairo. Without turning into the main town of Gairo continue on this road, leading you down past Gairo Vecchio and to the bottom of the valley, over the river and up the other side until the right hand bend to Gairo Taquisara.
