HOW TO GET THERE: From Tortoli take the SS125 south turning off at Cardedu. Turn right off the slip road towards the town of Cardedu, continue for approx. 1.6km turning right followingthe sign to Marina di Gairo. Drive the long straight road swinging right at the end, continue over the bridge until the roundabout. Take the second exit (straight ahead) and continue for approx. 4km until arriving at the car park on the left hand side opposite the start gate (pictured) which is on the right
THE TREK: Climb over the gate and and ladder (pictured) opposite the parking area and continue ahead on the wide, dusty trail for approx.1.5km passing the rocks to your right and the little river to your left. The trail swings right, ascends a little then goes down hill. You cross over a stream then head up as the trail narrows. Continue ahead until turning right where the rock is painted with a blue stripe. The trail ascends here and you're walking up hill for roughly 45 minutes through the trees until you arrive at a more open trail that offers some great views of the tree-topped hills and valleys. The trail flattens out a little and becomes rocky through some woods eventually leading you to the top of Monte Arista. To get the best views you have to leave the trail a little to your right which should more or less to you to the edge. Facing the sea you should have the little beach of Su Sirboni in the distance to your right. The trail is circular so dont go back in the same direction from which you came. Join the trail again and begin the rocky descend through the bushes. The descend takes approx.45 minutes and you arrive at the picnic and barbeque area of Perda Pera. Continue on the tarmac road leading to the main coastal road, turn right at the end and head back towards the parking area
